Colectivo Coffee Evanston | 716 Church St.
A Chicago classic, Colectivo is a locally-owned and operated coffee shop that can be found on the corner of Church and Sherman. If you’re looking for a tasty place to bring friends and family, or a place to study with friends, Colectivo should be at the very top of your list. In addition to having an extensive drink menu (complete with an espresso bar, smoothie bar, and more!), there are also many options for breakfast and lunch. Their breakfast sandwiches are particularly delicious and pair well with an iced latte. Colectivo has many seating options (inside and out!) and, on nice days, the baristas will open the large, floor-to-ceiling windows to allow fresh air.

Cupitol | 812 Grove St.
Cupitol All Day Lounge offers all-day, elevated dining in a comfortable environment. Owner Sellia Georges incorporates European style into the cuisine, atmosphere and beverage program, incorporating authentic, house-made pastries, specialty roasted coffee, and a varied continental menu seven days a week. Cupitol has two locations in Evanston, IL and in the Streeterville neighborhood of downtown Chicago.

Patisserie Coralie | 600 Davis St.
Not only does Downtown Evanston offer a taste of the Golden Coast, but you can also head straight to Paris with Patisserie Coralie, located on the corner of Davis Street and Chicago Avenue. This boutique coffee shop and French bakery has plenty of yummy goods to satiate your sweet tooth, in addition to a few savory items that make an amazing lunch. Picking up a chocolate croissant and fresh coffee and heading down to the Clark St. Beach to walk along the lake comprises a perfect weekend morning.

Peet’s — a classic, just down the road from Whole Foods on Chicago Avenue. Peet’s combines their internationally sourced coffee beans with great food and a better atmosphere. Similar to Starbucks and Colectivo, one can grab a pack of coffee beans for home, or pick up their own craft beverage.

Philz Coffee | 1030 Davis St.
A little taste of California, located right on Davis Street, is sometimes all you need! Philz was founded in San Francisco and has locations only in California and Chicagoland. Although they don’t have a traditional espresso bar, their drip coffee is delicious and there are plenty of food goods to choose from. Ask for the coffee to be made the "House Way” if you’re wanting a particularly tasty cuppa’. There are outlets at each table, lots of light, and space to spread out if you’re looking for a place to set up camp for a few hours of studying.

Looking for a sleek, modern place to grab a cup of artfully-crafted joe? Look no further than Newport Coffee House. The Starbucks on Sherman Avenue is a hub for all things coffee in Downtown Evanston. Large, vaulted ceilings, plenty of table space, and an efficient staff makes it a great place for both studying and stopping in to quickly grab a coffee before exploring the rest that Downtown Evanston has to offer. In addition to the goodies that Starbucks offers, there are also plenty of to-go items.
