WAYS TO CONTINUE SUPPORTING EVANSTON'S SMALL BUSINESSES

** While all restaurants are closed for dining in, most are still offering curb-side pick up and delivery. If you can, consider tipping the same amount as you would if you were dining in.**

** Shop online. While retail stores are now closed, many still have online shopping available.**

** If you do not need anything specific at the moment but still want to support local, buy gift cards to spend later in our various storefront businesses. **

** If you are in a position to continue to pay your gym or other memberships, please do so. Those funding streams will help our small businesses.**

** Share why you love our local businesses on social media and tag us @downtownevanston on Instagram and Facebook so that we can share the support. Use #downtownevanston #weloveevanston and #shopevanston #evanstoneats to help share the support for our local economy.

** Take the time to give businesses positive reviews on Yelp, Google and others.**

`~~  Share this post and information widely so others know how to help. ~~

Some of our businesses have created GoFundMe sites to help raise money for their employees that are being impacted by these changes.

If you are a business, please reach out to lbrown@downtownevanston.org to share any updates about your business. You can also access business resources at

La Cocinita Fundraiser to Send Meals to First Responders

La Cocinita Fundraiser to Send Meals to First Responders

Please consider making a donation that will allow us to feed local ER teams and first responders!  Any amount helps; for every $10 we can send a free meal to a nurse, doctor, firefighter, or police officer helping to fight this pandemic.  We are contributing by discounting our typical meal costs and providing free, no-contact delivery, thus allowing your donations to provide more free meals for these local heroes.

While Nakorn has closed it's doors for now, they set up a GoFundMe to help raise money to donate their time and kitchen to cooking meals for those in need and find a way help our non-management staff pay their bills during this time when they are not earning their regular pay.

All contributions to this GoFundMe will be used for ONLY two things: (1) food and supplies; and (2) supporting our non-management staff with payments to them equivalent to their normal wage for their time in support of this effort. Click below to learn more.

Buffalo Joes

Buffalo Joes

Buffalo Joe's will be open and offer curbside pickup, however their staff will experience reduced hours due to the limited hours and ability to serve customers. The uncertainty adds angst to their staff and their families, who are already burdened with this financial hardship. If you have the means and would like to ease their burden please support Buffalo Joe's staff. All proceeds will go directly to our hourly staff. We will match all donations up to $10,000.

Smylie Brothers Hourly Employee Virtual Tip Jar

Smylie Brothers Hourly Employee Virtual Tip Jar

Smylie Brothers is closed for regular service and operating on a to-go basis only.  They have a skeleton crew that unfortunately leaves much of our hosts, servers, bartenders, support, and BOH staff out of work. This campaign is to help provide additional support for our dedicated staff. All funds donated will be split among all current hourly staff members who are unable to work.  Every little bit helps. They've also added a few fun (optional) incentives for those who choose to chip in a little extra.
